Dedemin İnsanları [My Grandpa’s People], dir. Çağan Irmak (2011)
Inspired by Irmak’s own childhood and family history, “Dedemin İnsanları” comes out as an epic drama that focuses on the late 1970s and early ‘80s in Turkey while taking another stroll down memory lane through personal memories of 1924’s population exchange agreement between Turkey and Greece under the Lausanne Treaty that led to the emigration of about 2 million Turks from Greece.
Day 7 – September 7, 2013 (Saturday)
Seferihisar, Bir Cittaslow Kenti [Seferihisar, A Cittaslow City], dir. Çağan Irmak (2011)
Day 10 – September 10, 2013 (Saturday)
Alaçatı-Çeşme Visit
Erythrai/Ildırı is located in the most popular domestic tourism destination in Turkey, with Alaçatı forming a model for some residents of Ildırı, local authorities and potential tourism investors. With an active commercial harbour and a marina, Çeşme is the local seaport and administrative centre of the region where remains unearthed during early excavations at Erythrai were also kept in a museum within the walls of the historic citadel. This visit is, therefore, both a context survey for later studies on Erythrai/Ildırı and a means to enjoy the potentials of the region.
